No-Drill Hardie Siding Mount — Fits Fiber Cement Board Lap Siding

Mount a video doorbell or outdoor camera on Hardie plank without putting a single hole in the board. This bracket slides into the lap joint between two courses of siding and hooks onto the plank above, so the fastener never touches your siding. Fiber cement is far less forgiving than vinyl — drilling it chips the face, can crack the plank, and leaves a raw edge that wicks water straight into the board. This mount avoids all of it.

Compatibility: Hardie Plank & Fiber Cement Board Siding

  • Siding type: Standard horizontal cement board lap siding with a 1–2" lap overlap. Works with James Hardie HardiePlank and equivalent fiber cement lap siding.
  • Doorbell or camera: Universal mounting platform — fits any video doorbell or outdoor camera when paired with the correct adapter plate.
  • Painted-shut seam? A wedge tool is included to open the lap joint. No drilling either way.

Our Siding Fit Guarantee

We are confident this mount fits standard horizontal Hardie lap siding with a 1–2" overlap. If you run into any issue, send us pictures of your siding and we will work with you and ship free replacement parts if they are needed. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Features & Benefits

  • No holes in your siding: Nothing is drilled or screwed into the plank, so the face stays sealed and your siding warranty stays intact.
  • Built for fiber cement: Sized for the lap joint of standard cement board siding with a 1–2" overlap.
  • Universal device platform: Any doorbell or camera mounts to it with the appropriate adapter plate.
  • Locking slider: The slider is driven up against the board above and locked with a single screw into the mount's own pilot hole — a firm, rattle-free hold.
  • Wedge tool included: Opens a painted-shut lap joint without damaging the board.
  • Durable PETG construction: Strong, UV-resistant PETG made for outdoor exposure.
  • Renter and HOA friendly: Installs and comes off with no patching, no touch-up paint, no trace.

Easy No-Drill Installation Guide

For help, TEXT photos to 833-326-6868. FREE REPLACEMENT if it does not fit your Hardie siding — just send pictures.
  1. Unpack and lay out the parts. You will have a long insertion piece, a slider with pilot holes, and a wedge tool.
  2. Pick your spot. Choose a location on the wall where the lap joint has about a 1/16" gap. If the seam is painted shut, use the included wedge tool.
  3. Open the lap joint if needed. Only a small gap is required. You can often lift the board by hand. If not, tap the wedge tool in with a hammer until the insertion piece slides in by hand.
  4. Insert the mounting bracket. Slide the mount up until it stops, then pull straight back down so it hooks onto the overlapping board above.
  5. Remove the wedge. Once the mount is seated, pull the wedge tool back out — it is no longer needed.
  6. Lock the slider. Slide the adapter up until it contacts the board above, then drive the single provided screw into the mount's own pilot hole to hold it there. The screw goes into the bracket, never into your siding.
  7. Break off the bottom tab (optional). Hold the mount against the wall and pull up on the tab below the slider to snap it off for a cleaner look.
  8. Attach your device bracket. Using the four center screws, fasten your doorbell or camera adapter plate into the slider's pilot holes.
  9. Mount the doorbell or camera. Attach your device to its bracket with the hardware it came with. Done — no holes in the siding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this mount fit my Hardie siding?

Yes, if you have standard horizontal fiber cement lap siding with a 1–2" lap overlap — that covers most James Hardie HardiePlank installations. If you are unsure, text a photo of your siding to 833-326-6868 and we will confirm before you order.

Do I have to drill into my Hardie board?

No. The bracket slides into the existing lap joint between two courses of siding and hooks onto the board above. Nothing is drilled or screwed into the plank, so there are no holes to patch and nothing to void your siding warranty.

Why not just drill into fiber cement?

Fiber cement is brittle at the face. Drilling it commonly chips the surface and can crack the plank, and the raw hole edge wicks water into the board. Most siding warranties also treat unsealed penetrations as damage. A no-drill mount avoids the whole problem.

What if my siding seam is painted shut?

A wedge tool is included for exactly that. Tap it into the lap joint with a hammer to open a gap of about 1/16", slide the mount in, then remove the wedge.

Does it use any screws at all?

One screw locks the mount's own slider against the board above, and four screws attach your device bracket to the slider. Every one of them goes into the bracket — none go into your siding.

Which doorbells and cameras does it fit?

Any of them, with the right adapter plate. The mount is a universal platform — Ring, Nest, Blink, Eufy, Arlo, Wyze, SimpliSafe and more. Tell us your model and we will confirm the adapter you need.

Will it survive weather and sun?

Yes. It is 3D printed in UV-resistant PETG, the same material we use across our outdoor mounts, and it is made to order in the USA.

Can I remove it later?

Yes. Back out the slider screw and slide the mount out of the lap joint. There is nothing to patch, fill, or repaint.

I have vinyl siding, not Hardie — do you make one for that?

We do. See our no-drill vinyl siding mounts, sized for 3–5", 5.5–7.5" and 7–8.5" lap siding.
