If you want to fill gap if you have brick extension, this item could fill that gap.
Measure from EDGE OF BRICK to the center of the screw hole then subtract 1/2 the width of the base which is 9/16in - just round that to 1/4in. So if you have 1in distance from center of screw to edge of brick get a 3/4in shim.
