This listing provides a set of three **ADD-ON Angle Shims** designed specifically to work with DoorbellMount.com **Brick Extension Mounts** (Centered/Brick Face and Offset types using the standard base).

  • Purpose: Corrects for angled mounting surfaces (like angled door trim) to ensure your Brick Extension points straight out, perpendicular to the door/wall face.
  • Angles Included: Set includes one each of 5°, 10°, and 15° angled shims.
  • Use ONE Shim: Select the shim that best levels your Brick Extension base. These shims are NOT designed to be stacked together.
  • Compatibility: Fits under our standard Brick Extension bases (typically 9/16" or 3/4" wide with 2.5" or 2" hole spacing - check base compatibility if unsure).
  • Requires a Brick Extension Mount (purchased separately or previously).

How to Install (Shim + Brick Extension)

The shim goes between your angled wall/trim and the Brick Extension base.

  1. Tools & Prep: Gather Brick Extension parts, this Shim Set, drill, PH2 driver/bit, level, appropriate wall screws & anchors (LONGER screws may be needed than standard 1.5", depending on shim angle - NOT included).
    Turn OFF power to doorbell wiring at the breaker!
  2. Select & Position Shim: Determine which shim (5°, 10°, or 15°) best counteracts your trim angle to make the shim's top surface level/plumb. Place this shim against the angled trim, with the **THICK edge** positioned to compensate for the angle (e.g., thick edge down if trim angles upward). Route wires through shim and base.
  3. Mount Base WITH Shim: Place the **Brick Extension Base** on top of the selected shim, aligning the mounting holes and using the shim's guide rails. Secure **BOTH** the Base and the Shim together to the wall/trim using appropriate **longer screws** and anchors through the aligned holes.
    Ensure the Base sits flat and level on the shim. Use screws long enough to securely anchor into the wall behind the shim. Do not overtighten.
  4. Continue Brick Extension Install: Proceed with the standard installation steps for your Brick Extension (attach top bracket to base, wire doorbell, attach doorbell, etc.) as detailed in the main mount instructions. The extension will now be perpendicular.

Always follow safety rules & wiring guidelines. Using appropriately long screws and anchors suitable for your wall material is crucial when using shims.
