Wide-Lens Aim Correction for the C30 Battery

The C30's 165-degree ultra-wide lens is generous, but generosity has a downside: an off-axis side-wall install ends up with most of the field hitting siding instead of porch. This 15-90° bent-neck pivot swings the entire camera through a wide arc so the wide lens captures the actual approach path. Set screws lock the angle for the long haul. PETG, USA-made, freeze-tested.

C30's 165-degree ultra-wide FOV is great for porch coverage but unforgiving when off-axis — lock the angle once and let the wide lens do the rest.

Customization & Add-On Options

Installing on the Eufy C30

  1. Tools & Prep: Drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket/set/doorbell screws provided), wall anchors if needed, level.
    Battery-only doorbell — no transformer needed. Charge the C30 directly via USB-C (it dismounts from the bracket for charging).
  2. Plan the Aim Angle BEFORE Drilling: Stand where a visitor would stand. Visualize the angle from doorbell location to that spot.
  3. Mount the Base: Position vertical and attach using #6 screws (PH2 driver) with anchors as needed.
  4. Attach the Swivel Bracket: Align onto the base and attach using four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  5. Set Initial Angle: Adjust within 15-90° toward the visitor approach. Lightly tighten one or two set screws.
  6. Charge the C30: Charge fully via USB-C before mounting. C30 has ~6 month battery life in typical use.
  7. Attach the Doorbell: Use the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (#4 / PH1 driver). DO NOT USE Eufy's stock screws or back plate.
  8. Aim Using Live View: Open eufy Security app → Live View. Adjust through 15-90° until porch path is centered. With the 165° wide lens, even slightly off-center aim usually still covers the porch — but lock it precisely once you have it.
  9. Tune Motion Zones: Redraw motion zones to match the new angle. The 165° wide lens picks up a lot of peripheral motion — tighten the porch path zone for fewer false alerts.

Will the 165° FOV cause distortion at extreme 90° angles?
No more than usual — the wide-lens distortion is a property of the C30 sensor itself. The 90° pivot just changes where the lens points; the barrel distortion at the edges stays the same. The wide FOV is forgiving enough that even slightly off-mark 90° aim still covers the porch.
Do I need to dismount the C30 to charge it?
Yes — the C30's USB-C port is on the back, so you do need to lift it out of the bracket to charge. Battery life is ~6 months in typical use, so this is a once or twice a year task.
Can I use the C30 in wired mode with this mount?
The C30 doesn't have wired terminals — it's battery-only by design. If you want a wired Eufy in the same form factor, look at the C31 instead.
