  1. Tools & Prep: Drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket / set screws / doorbell screws — provided preinstalled to the bracket), wall anchors, level. Multimeter optional (only needed if wiring to chime power).
    Battery-only is the easy path. If wiring to existing chime power for trickle-charge: turn breaker OFF first. The doorbell accepts 16-24V AC at the chime location.
  2. Charge the Battery First: The new Battery Video Doorbell ships partially charged — top off via USB-C (about 4-5 hours from empty) so you can verify Live View aim during install.
  3. Plan the Aim Angle: Stand where visitors approach and visualize the angle from the doorbell location. 15-90° gives a wide range — commit to roughly the right angle before drilling pilot holes.
  4. Mount the Base: Pull wires through the base hole (only if wiring to chime), position vertically on your siding/trim, attach using #6 screws (PH2 driver) with anchors as needed.
    Drill pilot holes if mounting into hard trim wood. Don't overtighten base screws.
