Side-Wall Geometry Solved for the Battery Plus 2nd Gen

The Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen offers the wider Retinal 2K head-to-toe field of view that makes Plus listings popular — but only if it's actually pointed at the porch. If your install location is a side wall, an outside corner, or a tucked-back jamb, this Adjustable 15-90° Swivel Mount aims the camera outward and locks it with set screws.

We shaped a Battery Plus-specific pocket bracket so the body sits flush — no rocking, no rattle, no light gap that would make the doorbell look aftermarket. The bent-neck dual-axis joint provides 15° to 90° of pivot and holds position permanently after you tighten the set screws.

Wide Dual-Axis Control (15-90°) — Built for the Retinal 2K Lens

Designed for significant angle correction, this mount features a unique bent-neck swivel joint. Precise aiming control across a 15° to 90° arc relative to the wall — ideal for side-facing views (excels at angles greater than 45°). Fine-tuning is possible both horizontally (left/right) and vertically (up/down). Once the angle is set, the locking set screws hold position permanently — critical for Retinal 2K sharpness on any side-wall install.

Note: this design is optimized for substantial side angles. If you only need a very minor (<15°) adjustment or a straight-ahead view, see our 0-35° Swivel Mount for the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen instead.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Doorbell wiring (or PoE cable, where applicable) enters from the wall, passes through the hidden internal channel inside the swivel joint, routes through the front Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen adapter bracket, and connects directly to the doorbell terminals. No exposed wiring, no weather risk — even at extreme 90° angles.

Installing Your 15-90° Side-Wall Mount on the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen

  1. Tools & Prep: Gather a drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket/set/doorbell screws provided), wall anchors if needed, level, and a multimeter.
Battery-powered — no transformer required. Supports optional trickle-charge wiring (8-24V AC) via back terminals.
  2. Plan the Aim Angle BEFORE Drilling: Stand where a visitor would stand. Visualize the angle from the doorbell location to that spot. 15-90° gives you a wide range — but committing to roughly the right angle before drilling pilot holes saves rework.
  3. Mount the Base: Route any existing doorbell wires through the base hole. Position vertical and attach using #6 screws (PH2 driver) with anchors as needed.
Drill pilot holes if needed. Don't overtighten base screws.
  4. Attach the Swivel Bracket: Route wires through the swivel joint. Align onto the base and attach using four center screws (#4 / PH1 driver).
  5. Set Initial Angle: Adjust the swivel within 15-90° toward the visitor approach. Lightly tighten one or two set screws (#4 / PH1 driver) — final tightening comes after Live View confirmation.
  6. Wire the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen (or seat the battery): If hardwired, connect the two leads to the doorbell screw terminals — polarity doesn't matter for AC. If battery-only, you'll seat the battery at step 8.
  7. Attach the Doorbell to the Bracket: Align the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen with the pre-drilled holes on the custom Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen-specific bracket. Secure using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (#4 / PH1 driver). DO NOT USE the screws or wedge plate that came with your Ring doorbell.
Tighten snugly, do not overtighten. Use the correct PH1 driver for provided screws.
  8. Aim Using Live View & Finalize Set Screws: Restore power (or insert the battery). Open the Ring app → Live View. The Plus's wider 2K head-to-toe field makes side-wall framing easy to verify — adjust the 15-90° swivel until visitors are centered, then lock the set screws.
Do not overtighten set screws — hand-tight is sufficient. Over-tightening can crack the swivel joint.
  9. Tune Smart Notifications + Motion Zones: In the Ring app, redraw motion zones to match the new angle. Side-wall installs benefit from a tighter "porch path" zone — the wider 90° angle catches more peripheral motion (cars passing, mail truck) that you'll want to exclude.

Side-wall tip: extreme 90° angles slightly increase wind load on the doorbell. The set-screw lock is rated for it, but on installs in high-wind regions (coastal, exposed corners), the bracket's wider extension at 90° puts slight pre-loaded weight on the joint — completely fine, just normal for side-wall geometry.

FAQ — Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen 15-90° Mount

Will this 15-90° mount fit the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen (2026)?
Yes. Custom-shaped for the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 2nd Gen (2026), Amazon ASIN B0F14N7HHH. It will NOT fit the smaller Ring Battery 2nd Gen, the Battery Pro 2nd Gen, or any older Ring (Ring 2, 3, 3+, 4, original Battery).
Can I swap the quick-release battery without taking the doorbell off the mount?
Yes — that's the key feature for the Plus version. The bracket pocket has clearance below for the quick-release latch, so you press the release tab, slide the battery out, and pop in a charged spare. The doorbell stays on the wall, the aim stays locked, and your downtime is seconds instead of hours.
Does the bent-neck pivot block any sensors or the speaker?
No. The pocket is cut around the speaker grille, the motion sensor window, the IR LEDs, and the camera lens. All sensors operate as designed at any aim angle in the 15-90° range.
How does this compare to the 0-35° Battery Plus mount?
Use the 15-90° version when the install location is on a side wall, outside corner, or pillar where the Plus would otherwise frame siding. Use the 0-35° version on flat-wall installs that just need fine-tune aim correction.
Will trickle-charge wiring work through this mount?
Yes. If you have existing 8-24V AC doorbell wires, route them through the internal channel and connect to the back terminals. The Battery Plus 2nd Gen will then trickle-charge during normal use, extending battery life beyond the standard 6+ months.
Will the wider 2K head-to-toe field of view still work properly at extreme side-wall angles?
Yes. Head-to-toe framing is preserved; only the horizontal aim changes. After install, walk around your porch and check the Ring app's Live View to see how the new framing covers the visitor approach. Then redraw motion zones to match.
What hardware comes with the kit?
15-90° swivel base, custom Battery Plus 2nd Gen adapter bracket, locking set screws, #6 PH2 wall screws, #4 PH1 bracket/doorbell screws, and basic wall anchors. Use ONLY these screws — do not use the wedge plate or screws Ring includes.
