Battery Doorbell, Side-Wall Aim, Permanent Lock
Battery doorbells are wonderful — until you put one on a side wall and realize the head-to-toe lens just framed your siding. This Adjustable 15-90° Swivel Mount is the answer for the new Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen: a custom-fit pocket bracket on a bent-neck dual-axis pivot, with a wide 15° to 90° arc for proper side-wall geometry.
Because the Ring Battery 2nd Gen has no wall-side connector, all you need on the wall is a clean, locked, weather-tight bracket. This mount delivers exactly that — and the angle stays put when you pop the doorbell off to charge.
Wide Dual-Axis Control (15-90°) — Built for the Retinal 2K Lens
Designed for significant angle correction, this mount features a unique bent-neck swivel joint. Precise aiming control across a 15° to 90° arc relative to the wall — ideal for side-facing views (excels at angles greater than 45°). Fine-tuning is possible both horizontally (left/right) and vertically (up/down). Once the angle is set, the locking set screws hold position permanently — critical for Retinal 2K sharpness on any side-wall install.
Note: this design is optimized for substantial side angles. If you only need a very minor (<15°) adjustment or a straight-ahead view, see our 0-35° Swivel Mount for the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen instead.
Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected
Doorbell wiring (or PoE cable, where applicable) enters from the wall, passes through the hidden internal channel inside the swivel joint, routes through the front Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen adapter bracket, and connects directly to the doorbell terminals. No exposed wiring, no weather risk — even at extreme 90° angles.

Key Features & Benefits
- Wide Adjustable Angle (15-90°): Significant dual-axis swivel built specifically for side-wall / perpendicular installations.
- Custom-Fit Bracket for Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen: Charge-friendly geometry — bracket clearance lets you pop the doorbell off without removing it from the wall.
- Secure Locking Set Screws: Once you set the angle, it stays. No drift in cold weather, no need to readjust after firmware updates.
- Wire Pass-Through: Hole in the swivel joint routes the doorbell's power cable neatly — no exposed wiring at the joint.
- Siding Compatible: Flat surfaces or lapped siding up to 1.8 inches wide.
- Complete Kit: Adjustable base, custom Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen bracket, and all necessary mounting screws.
- Durable PETG: Sturdy 3D-printed PETG, UV-stable and freeze-tolerant for outdoor use.
- Side-Wall Problem Solver: Eliminates the "side wall view" issue for proper security coverage of the porch.
- Future-Proof Base: Base is compatible with future Ring doorbell adapter brackets — when Ring releases the next generation, just swap the small ~$10 adapter. Find replacement brackets here.
Installing Your 15-90° Side-Wall Mount on the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen
-
Tools & Prep: Gather a drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket/set/doorbell screws provided), wall anchors if needed, level, and a multimeter.
Battery-powered — no transformer required. Optional trickle-charge wiring (8-24V AC) supported via the back terminals if your install has existing doorbell wires.
- Plan the Aim Angle BEFORE Drilling: Stand where a visitor would stand. Visualize the angle from the doorbell location to that spot. 15-90° gives you a wide range — but committing to roughly the right angle before drilling pilot holes saves rework.
-
Mount the Base: Route any existing doorbell wires through the base hole. Position vertical and attach using #6 screws (PH2 driver) with anchors as needed.
Drill pilot holes if needed. Don't overtighten base screws.
- Attach the Swivel Bracket: Route wires through the swivel joint. Align onto the base and attach using four center screws (#4 / PH1 driver).
- Set Initial Angle: Adjust the swivel within 15-90° toward the visitor approach. Lightly tighten one or two set screws (#4 / PH1 driver) — final tightening comes after Live View confirmation.
- Wire the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen (or seat the battery): If hardwired, connect the two leads to the doorbell screw terminals — polarity doesn't matter for AC. If battery-only, you'll seat the battery at step 8.
-
Attach the Doorbell to the Bracket: Align the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen with the pre-drilled holes on the custom Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen-specific bracket. Secure using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (#4 / PH1 driver). DO NOT USE the screws or wedge plate that came with your Ring doorbell.
Tighten snugly, do not overtighten. Use the correct PH1 driver for provided screws.
-
Aim Using Live View & Finalize Set Screws: Restore power (or insert the battery). Open the Ring app → Live View. With the Retinal 2K head-to-toe lens, you'll see if the side-wall framing is right. Adjust the 15-90° swivel and lock the set screws.
Do not overtighten set screws — hand-tight is sufficient. Over-tightening can crack the swivel joint.
- Tune Smart Notifications + Motion Zones: In the Ring app, redraw motion zones to match the new angle. Side-wall installs benefit from a tighter "porch path" zone — the wider 90° angle catches more peripheral motion (cars passing, mail truck) that you'll want to exclude.
Side-wall tip: extreme 90° angles slightly increase wind load on the doorbell. The set-screw lock is rated for it, but on installs in high-wind regions (coastal, exposed corners), the bracket's wider extension at 90° puts slight pre-loaded weight on the joint — completely fine, just normal for side-wall geometry.
