15-90° Adjustable Swivel Mount for the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera (Wired)

Custom-Fit for the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera (Wired)

  • Custom-shaped for the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera (Wired) — Amazon ASIN B0C424CVZ8. ecobee's 2023+ wired doorbell with 1080p HDR, 187° diagonal field of view (175° vertical), built-in radar for advanced person and package detection, color night vision, two-way audio with full-duplex talkback, IP65 weatherproof rating, and integration with Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, ecobee Smart Security plans, and ecobee thermostats.
  • Body dimensions: 5.3 × 1.9 × 1.1 inches — the bracket's pocket is sized exactly for this body.
  • Wired-only: requires existing 16-24V AC doorbell wiring with a 10VA minimum transformer. There is no battery option (ecobee only sells the wired model).
  • Does NOT fit: any other doorbell brand. The ecobee body is unique to this model. Does not fit Ring, Nest, Wyze, Eufy, Aqara, Tapo, Arlo, Blink, or any non-ecobee doorbell.

Side-Wall Aim That Keeps the Radar Pointed at the Path

What makes the ecobee doorbell special is the integration: it's the only doorbell that talks natively to ecobee thermostats, lets you arm/disarm Smart Security from the same app, and uses radar (not just PIR) for person + package detection. The radar means fewer false alerts from blowing leaves or shadows.

But radar zones and the 187° wide-angle frame are configured relative to the camera's actual aim. If the doorbell is mounted on an offset wall (which is most front porches), the wide frame and the radar both end up watching siding instead of the walkway. This Adjustable 15-90° Side-Wall Mount rotates the entire ecobee body across a wide 15° to 90° arc so both the camera and the radar are aimed at the actual approach path — and locks permanently with set screws.

Wide-Angle Side-Wall Pivot Tuned for the ecobee's Slim Body

Designed for significant angle correction, this mount uses a unique bent-neck swivel joint with set-screw locks. Precise aiming control across a 15° to 90° arc relative to the wall — ideal for side-facing views (excels at angles greater than 45°). Fine-tuning is possible both horizontally (left/right) and vertically (up/down). Once the angle is set, the locking set screws hold position permanently.

15° to 90° pivot — dual-axis swivel for perpendicular-wall installs.

Note: this design is optimized for substantial side angles. If you only need a very minor (<15°) adjustment or a straight-ahead view, see our 0-35° Swivel Mount for the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell instead.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Existing 16-24V AC doorbell wires enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the swivel joint, route through the front ecobee adapter bracket, and connect directly to the doorbell's screw terminals. No exposed wiring at the joint — even at extreme 90° angles. Note: the ecobee is wired-only, so the wire pass-through is required (no battery shortcut available).

Mount Dimensions & Weight

  • Base Width: 1.8 inches
  • Base Height: 3.1 inches
  • Base Hole Spacing: 2-5/8 inches (center-to-center)
  • Wall Extension at 15°: ~2.0 inches
  • Wall Extension at 90°: ~3.5 inches (extends doorbell perpendicular to wall)
  • Weight: ~2 oz (PETG mount only)
  • (Note: This is the standard 1.8" base; narrow 3/4" baseplate option available — see Customization section.)

Key Features & Benefits

  • Custom Bracket for the ecobee Doorbell: Pre-shaped pocket fits the 5.3"-tall slim body — flush, no rattle, no obstruction of the wide-angle lens OR the radar sensor window.
  • Wide Adjustable Angle (15-90°): Significant dual-axis swivel built specifically for side-wall / perpendicular installations.
  • Radar Sensor Stays Aligned with Camera Frame: Because the entire body rotates, both the camera and the radar detection zone always point at the same place — eliminates radar/camera misalignment problems common with stock plates on side-wall installs.
  • Wire Pass-Through: Routes 16-24V AC doorbell wires neatly through the joint — no exposed wiring.
  • Secure Locking Set Screws: Once you set the angle, it stays. No drift in cold snaps, no need to re-aim after firmware updates.
  • Siding Compatible: Flat surfaces or lapped siding up to 1.8 inches wide.
  • Outdoor-Rated PETG: Matches the ecobee's IP65 rating — UV-stable, freeze-tolerant down to ecobee's -13°F operating spec.
  • Complete Kit: Adjustable base, custom ecobee adapter bracket, and all necessary mounting screws.
  • Universal Base: Future-proof — switch to a different brand later by ordering a ~$10 Replacement Bracket. The base stays installed on your wall.

Customization & Add-On Options

We offer solutions for almost any mounting situation:

Installing Your 15-90° Side-Wall Mount on the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell

  1. Verify Wiring Voltage: Confirm your existing doorbell circuit is 16-24V AC with a 10VA minimum transformer. The ecobee won't power on below 16V AC at the doorbell. Check at the chime if unsure — most homes built before 2010 may have lower-voltage transformers that need upgrading to 30VA.
  2. Tools & Prep + Power Down: Gather a drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket/set/doorbell screws), wall anchors if needed, level, and a multimeter.
Turn the breaker off at the chime circuit. Verify dead with a tester at the existing doorbell wires before pulling them through the mount.
  3. Set Up the ecobee App First: Pair the doorbell to the ecobee app indoors before mounting (easier and gets the firmware updated). The doorbell shows up as 'Smart Doorbell Camera' in the ecobee app device list. Connect to 2.4 or 5GHz Wi-Fi during setup.
  4. Plan the Aim Angle BEFORE Drilling: Stand where a visitor would stand. Visualize the angle from the doorbell location to that spot. The radar sensor has a narrower coverage cone than the 187° camera, so the side-wall correction matters even more here — if the radar is pointed at siding instead of the path, package detection won't trigger reliably.
  5. Mount the Base: Pull the doorbell wires through the hole in the swivel base. Position vertically (the ecobee is taller than wide so vertical orientation is most natural), secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed.
Drill pilot holes if needed. Don't overtighten base screws.
  6. Attach the Swivel Bracket: Route the wires through the swivel center, attach to the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  7. Set Initial Angle: Adjust the swivel within 15-90° toward the visitor approach. Lightly tighten one or two set screws (#4 / PH1 driver) — final tightening comes after Live View confirmation.
  8. Wire & Mount the ecobee: Connect the two doorbell-circuit wires to the ecobee's screw terminals on the back. Snap the doorbell onto the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — not ecobee's stock back plate.
Tighten snugly, do not overtighten. Use the correct PH1 driver.
  9. Aim, Lock, & Configure Radar Zones: Restore power. Live View in the ecobee app → adjust the swivel until the 187° frame covers your porch top-to-bottom → tighten all set screws (PH1 driver) gently but firmly. Then in the app: configure radar detection zones to match your new framing (exclude street, include path/porch).
Do not overtighten set screws — hand-tight is sufficient.
  10. Test Smart Home Integration: If you also have an ecobee thermostat, the doorbell's video should now appear on the thermostat's screen when someone presses it. Test from outside before considering the install complete. Also test HomeKit / Alexa / Google Home announcements if you use those.

Side-wall tip: extreme 90° angles slightly increase wind load on the doorbell. The set-screw lock is rated for it, but on installs in high-wind regions (coastal, exposed corners), the bracket's wider extension at 90° puts slight pre-loaded weight on the joint — completely fine, just normal for side-wall geometry.

FAQ — ecobee Smart Video Doorbell 15-90° Mount

Will this 15-90° mount fit my ecobee Smart Video Doorbell?
Yes. This bracket is custom-shaped for the ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera (Wired), Amazon ASIN B0C424CVZ8. The doorbell sits flush in a model-specific pocket without obstructing the 187° lens OR the radar sensor window. ecobee currently sells only one doorbell, so if your doorbell has the ecobee logo, this mount fits.
What's the difference between this 15-90° mount and the 0-35° mount for the ecobee?
The 15-90° mount uses a bent-neck dual-axis pivot for substantial side-wall corrections — best when the doorbell is mounted perpendicular to the door (on a side wall, pillar, or outside corner). The 0-35° mount is for fine-tuning aim on flat-wall installs. If you need more than 15° of correction, choose the 15-90° version.
Will the radar still work properly when the doorbell is angled at 60-90°?
Yes — even better than on a stock plate. Because the bracket rotates the entire ecobee body, the radar sensor and the camera always point at the same place. On stock side-wall installs, the radar zone often misaligns with the camera frame, causing missed package detections. Our mount eliminates that problem. After install, redraw radar detection zones in the ecobee app to match the new framing.
Do I need an ecobee Smart Security subscription to use the doorbell with this mount?
No — the mount is independent of subscription tiers. ecobee Smart Security free tier gets you live view + 2-way audio + 5-min video clip history. Person/package detection and 30-day video history require ecobee Smart Security Plus subscription. Plan accordingly.
My existing doorbell transformer is older — will the ecobee even power on?
The ecobee requires 16-24V AC with a 10VA-minimum transformer. If your transformer is older / undersized (often 10V AC or 5VA), the ecobee won't power on or will boot loop. Test at the existing doorbell wires with a multimeter before installing — if voltage is below 16V AC, plan to upgrade to a 30VA transformer (~$25 on Amazon, easy DIY at the chime). The mount is fine either way; the doorbell needs the right power.
Can I install this on vinyl siding, Hardie board, or stucco?
Yes. The 1.8" base sits flat on most lapped siding. For vinyl siding without drilling into the siding itself, pair this mount with our Vinyl Siding Adapter. For Hardie/fiber-cement, use our Hardie Siding Mount. For stucco, drill pilot holes and use plastic anchors rated for masonry.
Is the mount weatherproof? How long will the PETG last outdoors?
Yes. We print in UV-stabilized PETG that matches the ecobee's IP65 rating, freeze-tolerant down to ecobee's -13°F operating spec, and won't yellow or warp like cheaper plastics. Real-world installs are still going strong after 4+ years.
