How to confirm: The ecobee Smart Video Doorbell Camera is the only doorbell ecobee makes — it has the ecobee logo on the front, a tall slim body shape (5.3" tall), and is wired-only with no battery option. If your doorbell has the ecobee branding, this mount fits.

ecobee's Doorbell Belongs in Your Smart Home — Aim It Right

What makes the ecobee doorbell special is the integration: it's the ONLY doorbell that talks natively to ecobee thermostats, lets you arm/disarm Smart Security from the same app, and uses radar (not just PIR) for person + package detection. The radar means fewer false alerts from blowing leaves or shadows.

But radar zones and the 187° wide-angle frame are configured relative to the camera's actual aim. If the doorbell is mounted on an offset wall (which is most front porches), the wide frame and radar both end up watching siding instead of the walkway. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount rotates the entire ecobee body so the camera and the radar are both aimed at the actual approach path — and it locks permanently with set screws.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera

  1. Verify Wiring: Confirm your existing doorbell circuit is 16-24V AC with a 10VA-minimum transformer. The ecobee won't power on below 16V AC. Check at the chime if unsure — most homes built before 2010 may have lower-voltage transformers that need upgrading.
  2. Power Down:
    Turn the breaker off at the chime circuit. Verify with a tester at the existing doorbell wires before pulling them through the mount.
  3. Set Up the ecobee App First: Pair the doorbell to the ecobee app indoors before mounting (easier and gets the firmware updated). The doorbell shows up as "Smart Doorbell Camera" in the ecobee app device list.
  4. Mount the Base: Pull the doorbell wires through the hole in the swivel base, position vertically (the ecobee is taller than wide so vertical orientation is most natural), secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed.
  5. Attach the Swivel: Route the wires through the swivel center, attach to the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  6. Connect & Mount the ecobee: Connect the two doorbell-circuit wires to the ecobee's screw terminals on the back. Snap onto the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — not ecobee's stock back plate.
  7. Aim & Lock + Configure Radar: Restore power. Live View in the ecobee app → adjust the swivel until the 187° frame covers your porch top-to-bottom → tighten set screws. Then in the app: configure radar detection zones to match your new framing (exclude street, include path/porch).
  8. Test Smart Home Integration: If you also have an ecobee thermostat, the doorbell's video should now appear on the thermostat's screen when someone presses it. Test from outside before considering the install complete.

Smart Security note: ecobee Smart Security free tier gets you live view + 2-way audio + 5-min video clip history. Person/package detection and 30-day video history require ecobee Smart Security Plus subscription. Plan accordingly.
