Slim Fixed Trim Doorbell Mount | Fits the Cove Doorbell Cam

A Narrow Mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam

This is a slim fixed mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam — the tall, narrow video doorbell that comes with Cove's security system and runs on battery or existing doorbell wiring. It is designed for the spot where there is barely any room: a thin strip of door casing, a brickmould edge, a storm-door frame, or trim that is cupped, beveled, or just not flat. The mount gives the Cove a solid, level surface to sit on, with no angle adjustment and no bulk.

No swivel here — that is the point. If your Cove already points the right direction and the only problem is that the trim is too narrow or too uneven for the factory backplate to sit flush, this is the simplest fix in the catalog.

Doorbell details are on the Cove Doorbell Camera page.

Fits the Cove Doorbell Cam

  • Made for the Cove Doorbell Cam, battery or hardwired.
  • Bracket matches the Cove's screw spacing with the center wire opening left clear.
  • This replaces Cove's backplate. Keep the original and its screws.
  • Need to turn the camera too? Go with the 0-35° swivel or the 15-90° version instead.

Why Trim Beats Most Factory Backplates

Door trim is rarely as flat as it looks. Paint builds up on the edges, old casing cups with age, and brickmould is often beveled rather than square. Cove ships a thin spacer to help with small irregularities, but it is still a flat plate against an uneven surface — so the doorbell rocks, the screws load unevenly, and water finds the gap.

This mount puts a rigid, properly bedded base between the doorbell and the trim. The Cove ends up straight, tight, and sealed against the surface, with a profile narrow enough to leave your casing reveal visible.

If your problem is a corner rather than narrow trim, see our 45° corner mount instead.

Cove Notes for a Tight Install

  • Check your reveal first. Measure the flat width of the trim before ordering — if it is under about 3/4 inch, message us and we will point you at the right version.
  • Battery owners: remember you will need to pull the Cove off to recharge it. Mount at a height you can comfortably reach, and keep a long USB-C cable handy. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
  • Hardwired owners: the Cove takes up to 24 VAC, so an older 10 VAC transformer may be marginal. A modern doorbell transformer is a cheap upgrade.
  • Keep the removal pin. You need it to get the camera back off the bracket.

How to Install the Slim Trim Mount on Your Cove

  1. Tools: PH1 and PH2 Phillips drivers, pencil, drill with a small pilot bit.
Hardwired install? Switch off the breaker first.
  2. Release the Cove using the removal pin, then unscrew Cove's backplate from the trim. Save both.
  3. Dry-fit the mount on the trim. Slide it up and down until it sits flat with no rocking, then mark the holes.
  4. Pilot-drill the marks. Door casing is usually softwood or MDF and splits easily if you skip this.
  5. Screw the mount down with the provided screws, PH2 driver, wires routed through the center opening first.
Stop at snug. Overtightening on thin trim will crack the casing or the mount.
  6. Attach the Cove bracket with the four #4 screws using a PH1 driver.
  7. Wire the doorbell if hardwired, then tuck the slack back into the opening.
  8. Snap the Cove on — grooves to teeth, press until it seats, lip over the top flap on the left side.
  9. Power up and check the app. Confirm the live view frames your walkway and that the button and chime work.

Follow Cove's wiring guidance and local code. Match driver sizes to the screws.

Cove Slim Trim Mount FAQ

Will this fit my Cove Doorbell Cam?

Yes. The bracket is made for the Cove Doorbell Cam's screw spacing and back profile, with the groove-and-teeth retention and an open center wire channel. Battery and hardwired both fit.

Does this mount angle the camera?

No, it is deliberately fixed and flat. Choose our 0-35° or 15-90° swivel mount if you need to aim the camera.

My door trim is really narrow. Will it still work?

Usually yes — that is what this mount is for. Measure the flat width and send it to us if you are unsure, and we will confirm or build a custom width.

My trim is not flat. Is that a problem?

That is the other reason this mount exists. It bridges cupped, painted, and beveled trim so the doorbell sits level instead of rocking on two corners.

Can I use this on brick?

You can, but a brick extension is usually the better answer because it lets you fasten into mortar joints rather than brick faces. Cove also advises against adhesive tape on brick and stucco.

Is this made by Cove?

No. DoorbellMount.com designs and prints it in the USA. It is an aftermarket accessory, not affiliated with or endorsed by Cove Smart, LLC.
