Standard Offset Brick Extension Mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam — 9/16" Base
This is a standard offset brick extension mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam. If your Cove doorbell sits on door trim that is recessed behind your brick, stone or stucco, this two-piece extension pushes the camera out past the masonry and shifts it about 5/8 inch sideways toward the brick, so the lens is no longer staring at the edge of the facade and a storm door can still swing clear. It screws into your existing trim — you never drill into the brick. The top plate is pre-drilled for the Cove Doorbell Cam's own screw pattern, so the doorbell bolts straight on.
The Cove Doorbell Cam is a battery camera, so most installs here are purely mechanical: screw the base to the trim, screw the bracket to the base, hang the doorbell. If you are running a wire for continuous power, there is an internal channel for it. You can read Cove's own specs on the Cove Doorbell Camera page.
Before You Add to Cart — Two Things to Pick
- Doorbell Model is already set to Cove Doorbell Cam (2026). That is what tells us which adapter bracket to print.
- Extension Distance is the one you have to measure. Scroll down to "How to Measure" — getting this wrong is the single most common reason a brick extension has to be reprinted.
- Your trim must be at least 9/16 inch wide. The base of this mount is 9/16 inch. If your trim is narrower than that, text us a photo instead of guessing.
How the Standard Offset Works
- Offset: about 5/8 inch of horizontal shift toward the brick side, measured from the center of the base to the center of the doorbell.
- Base width: 9/16 inch (0.5625"). Requires a mounting surface at least that wide.
- Base hole spacing: standard 2.5 inch center-to-center — the same spacing most existing doorbell buttons already use, so you can often reuse the holes.
- Extension lengths: 51 steps from 1/4 inch all the way to 8 inches.
- Wire passthrough: internal channel runs the full length of the extension.
- Typical result: roughly 3/8 inch of the base stays visible next to the door frame, with the doorbell itself sitting partly over the brick.
Need the doorbell shifted further sideways, or straight out with no offset at all? We print several variations — see the universal standard offset brick extension or the extendable brick extension with optional angle adjustment, or just ask us.
- Put a ruler flat against the surface the base will screw to (your door trim).
- Measure straight out from that surface to the outermost face of the brick, stone or storm door you need to clear.
- Order that exact number as your Extension Distance.
Why People Buy This One
- No masonry drilling. Everything lands in the wood or vinyl trim you already have.
- Cove-specific top plate. Pre-drilled for the Cove Doorbell Cam — no shimming, no drilling your own holes, no double-sided tape.
- Real sideways correction. The 5/8 inch offset is what actually fixes a doorbell jammed against a brick return.
- Storm door clearance. Pick a length that puts the Cove in front of the door swing.
- 51 lengths. You are not rounding to the nearest inch.
- Future-proof. If you replace the Cove with something else later, you only need a new top adapter bracket — keep the extension.
- Outdoor PETG. UV and weather resistant, printed in the USA.

How to Install Your Cove Offset Brick Extension
- Gather tools. Drill or driver, PH1 and PH2 Phillips bits, a small level, and wall anchors if you are going into anything other than solid wood.
- Kill the power at the breaker if there is any doorbell wiring involved. Skip this if your Cove is running purely on battery.
-
Mount the extension base. Hold it on the trim with the offset pointing toward the brick, pass any wire up through the channel, check it is plumb, and drive #6 screws through the 2.5 inch spaced holes (PH2 bit).
Snug, not gorilla-tight. Over-torquing a printed part is how you crack one.
- Attach the Cove adapter bracket. Route the wire through, seat the bracket on the front face of the extension, and secure it with the four small center screws (#4, PH1 bit).
- Wire the doorbell if applicable, following Cove's instructions, and tuck the slack back into the channel.
- Hang the Cove Doorbell Cam. Use the screws we supplied (PH1), not the stock Cove wall screws — ours are sized for the bracket.
- Restore power and test. Press the button, confirm the chime and the app, and swing your storm door to double-check clearance.
Install it level and check the screws once after the first hard freeze or heat wave. That is the whole maintenance routine.
Questions We Get About This Mount
Do I have to drill into my brick?
No. That is the entire point. The base screws into the trim you already have and the extension reaches out past the brick.
What if I measure wrong?
Text us a photo with a tape measure in frame before you order and we will tell you the size. If one already shipped and the length is off, contact us — we would rather reprint it than have it sit in a drawer.
Will the Cove still charge normally on this?
Yes. The mount does not cover any port and the doorbell comes off the bracket the same way it comes off a wall plate, so you can take it down to charge it. Cove's own product page covers battery life.
I have stucco, not brick. Does this still work?
Usually yes — the geometry is the same problem. Measure from the trim out to the face of the stucco and order that length.
