Face Recognition + UniFi Access on a Side-Wall Install

The G6 Entry is built for facility access workflows: visitor walks up, face recognition identifies them, UniFi Access grants entry. None of that automation works if the camera is square to a side wall and faces appear at extreme angles. The 15-90° bent-neck pivot aims the camera perpendicular to the wall so faces appear front-on for the AI engine.

Installing on the UniFi G6 Entry

  1. Tools & Prep: Drill, PH2/PH1 Philips, anchors, level. Pre-terminated CAT5e/CAT6 (PoE 802.3af).
  2. Pull Cable: CAT5e/CAT6 from PoE switch.
  3. Adopt to UniFi Protect + Access: Adopt to UniFi Protect for video. If using UniFi Access, link site/door.
  4. Plan Aim Angle: Face recognition needs front-on view. Side-wall = 60-90° pivot.
  5. Mount the Base: Pull cable through, vertically, #6 screws.
  6. Attach Bent-Neck Swivel: Route cable, four #4 / PH1 screws.
  7. Set Initial Angle: Adjust through 15-90°.
  8. Connect & Mount Doorbell: Plug RJ45. Use screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (preinstalled).
  9. Aim & Lock: UniFi Protect Live View, tilt/pan, test face recognition with household member walk-up. Tighten set screws.
