This Adjustable 15-90° Side-Wall Mount uses a bent-neck dual-axis pivot to swing the doorbell outward across a wide 15° to 90° arc, so the wide-angle Nest lens (145° on Gen2, 166° on Gen3) finally points at the porch path.

Side-wall installs are the #1 reason a perfectly good Nest doorbell underperforms. Familiar Faces fires on the side of your house, package detection misses the doorstep, and the Gemini AI summaries on the 3rd Gen are useless when the wide frame catches blowing leaves instead of visitors. Existing 16-24V AC doorbell wires (or your 30VA upgraded transformer leads) enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the swivel joint, route through the front Nest adapter bracket, and connect directly to the doorbell terminals. Installing Your 15-90° Side-Wall Mount on the Nest Wired Gen2 / Gen3

  1. Tools & Prep: Gather a drill, PH2 Philips (#6 base screws), PH1 Philips (#4 bracket/set/doorbell screws provided), wall anchors if needed, level, and a multimeter.
    Turn OFF power at the circuit breaker first. Both Nest Wired generations need 16-24V AC, 10VA min (30VA recommended for the 3rd Gen 2K). A weak transformer (under 16V at the doorbell) causes Nest boot loops and intermittent Live View dropout.
  2. Plan the Aim Angle BEFORE Drilling: Stand where a visitor would stand. Visualize the angle from the doorbell location to that spot. 15-90° gives you a wide range — but committing to roughly the right angle before drilling pilot holes saves rework.
  3. Mount the Base: Route existing doorbell wires through the base hole. Position vertical and attach using #6 screws (PH2 driver) with anchors as needed.
    Drill pilot holes if needed. Don't overtighten base screws.
  4. Attach the Swivel Bracket: Route wires through the swivel joint. Align onto the base and attach using four center screws (#4 / PH1 driver).
  5. Set Initial Angle: Adjust the swivel within 15-90° toward the visitor approach. Lightly tighten one or two set screws (#4 / PH1 driver) — final tightening comes after Live View confirmation.
  6. Wire the Nest Wired Doorbell: Connect the two leads to the Nest's screw terminals — polarity doesn't matter for AC. Tuck excess wire into the bracket cavity.
  7. Attach the Doorbell to the Bracket: Align the back of your Nest with the pre-shaped pocket on the custom Nest-specific bracket. Secure using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (#4 / PH1 driver). DO NOT USE the screws or wedge plate that came with your Nest doorbell.
    Tighten snugly, do not overtighten. Use the correct PH1 driver for provided screws.
  8. Aim Using Live View & Finalize Set Screws: Restore power. Open the Google Home app → Live View. With the wide-angle Nest lens you'll spot misalignment immediately. Adjust through the 15-90° range until the porch path is centered, then fully tighten all set screws (PH1 driver) gently but firmly.
    Do not overtighten set screws — hand-tight is sufficient. Over-tightening can crack the swivel joint.
  9. Tune Activity Zones: In the Google Home app, redraw activity zones to match the new angle. Side-wall installs benefit from a tighter 'porch path' zone — the wider 90° angle catches more peripheral motion (cars passing, mail truck) that Familiar Faces should exclude. On the 3rd Gen, this also tightens Gemini AI summary accuracy.

Side-wall tip: extreme 90° angles slightly increase wind load on the doorbell. The set-screw lock is rated for it, but on installs in high-wind regions (coastal, exposed corners), the bracket's wider extension at 90° puts slight pre-loaded weight on the joint — completely fine, just normal for side-wall geometry.

What's the difference between this 15-90° mount and the 0-35° mount for the same Nest doorbell?
The 15-90° mount uses a bent-neck dual-axis pivot for substantial side-wall corrections — best when the doorbell is mounted perpendicular to the door (on a side wall, pillar, or outside corner). The 0-35° mount is for fine-tuning aim on flat-wall installs where the doorbell already faces roughly toward the visitor. If you need more than 15° of correction, choose the 15-90° version.
Do I lose any Nest features (Familiar Faces, Gemini AI, Quiet Time, etc.) by using this aftermarket mount?
No. The mount is a passive bracket with no electronics. All Google Nest features — Familiar Faces, package detection, Quiet Time, the new 2K HDR + Gemini AI summaries on the 3rd Gen, Live View, activity zones — work exactly as on the stock plate. After install, redraw activity zones in the Google Home app to match the new aim angle for best results.
Can I install this on vinyl siding, Hardie board, or stucco?
Yes. The 1.8" base sits flat on most lapped siding. For vinyl siding without drilling into the siding itself, pair this mount with our Vinyl Siding Adapter. For Hardie/fiber-cement, use our Hardie Siding Mount. For stucco, drill pilot holes and use plastic anchors rated for masonry.
What hardware comes with the mount?
The kit includes the adjustable 15-90° swivel base, the custom Nest Wired Gen2/Gen3 adapter bracket (whichever generation you selected), locking set screws, mounting screws (#6 PH2 for the wall, #4 PH1 for bracket and doorbell), and basic wall anchors. You'll need a drill, a Philips PH1 + PH2 driver, and a level. Use ONLY the screws provided — do NOT use the screws or wedge plate that came with the Nest.
Is the mount weatherproof? How long will the PETG last outdoors?
Yes. We print in UV-stabilized PETG (not PLA) which is rated for outdoor use, freeze-tolerant down to common winter temperatures, and won't yellow or warp like cheaper plastics. Real-world installs are still going strong after 4+ years.
