Need to mount your video doorbell slightly off the wall? This flat extension spacer adds a clean, consistent gap between your doorbell and the surface behind it. It's perfect for:
- Clearing shallow door trim, uneven siding, or surfaces that stick out behind the doorbell.
- Creating room to tuck excess wire or bulky wire connectors that won't fit inside the wall box.
- Giving a factory-matched, integrated look instead of a bulky wedge.
It's a 0-degree (flat) spacer that keeps your doorbell facing straight ahead — no angle change, just depth.

How to Install Your Extension Spacer

Tools & Prep: Gather a drill (if using anchors), Phillips bits, a level, wall anchors if needed, and your doorbell with its faceplate/security screw/tool.
Wired doorbells: Turn OFF power at the breaker before touching any wiring!
- Position the Spacer: Hold the spacer flat against the wall over the wiring, aligning its wall-mounting holes where you want the doorbell. Check that it's level.
- Secure Spacer to Wall: Attach the spacer firmly using screws/anchors suitable for your wall material (wall screws not included) through the spacer's wall-mounting holes. Do not overtighten.
- Wire the Doorbell (if wired): Connect the wall wires following your doorbell's instructions. Tuck excess wire into the wall cavity or neatly into the space created by the spacer.

Mount Doorbell onto Spacer: Align the doorbell body over the spacer and secure it to the spacer using the small screws provided with this spacer into the pre-drilled pilot holes.
Use the screws provided with THIS spacer — not the doorbell's original wall screws.
- Attach Faceplate: Snap on your doorbell's faceplate and secure it with the manufacturer's security screw/tool.
- Final Check & Power On: Confirm the doorbell is secure, restore power, and test.

Will this fit my doorbell?
Select your exact model from the "Doorbell Model" dropdown — the spacer is printed to match that model's footprint and mounting holes. If your model isn't listed, choose "Other (Not Listed)" and send us a photo and we'll confirm the fit.
How much does it push the doorbell off the wall?
You choose: 1/4", 1/2", or 1" of depth, measured to the back of the doorbell. Pick the smallest depth that clears your trim or fits your wires.
Does it change the camera angle?
No. This is a flat, 0-degree spacer — it moves the doorbell straight out from the wall without tilting it. If you need an angle, see our swivel and wedge mounts.
Do I need special tools?
Just a screwdriver or drill and, for masonry, appropriate wall anchors. Screws to attach the doorbell to the spacer are included; wall-mounting screws are not.
Can I hide wires behind it?
Yes — the space behind the doorbell is designed to give bulky connectors and excess wire somewhere to go when they won't fit in the wall box.
