No-Drill Vinyl Siding Mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam
This is a no-drill vinyl siding mount for the Cove Doorbell Cam. It clips into the horizontal seam between two siding panels — no screws into your vinyl, no holes to patch, nothing to explain to a landlord. The front plate is pre-drilled for the Cove Doorbell Cam, so your doorbell bolts on and sits flat and level against the siding instead of rocking on a curved panel.
Because the Cove Doorbell Cam runs on its own battery, this is about as easy as a doorbell install gets: clip the mount in, tighten two small screws, hang the doorbell. No transformer, no fishing wire, no drilling. Full specs for the doorbell itself are on the Cove Doorbell Camera page.
Measure Your Siding Before You Order
- Measure the exposed width of one siding plank — from the bottom lip of one panel to the bottom lip of the next one up.
- Pick the matching Vinyl Board Width above: 3"–5", 5.5"–7.5", or 7"–8.5".
- Doorbell Model is already set to Cove Doorbell Cam (2026).
- Guaranteed fit. If it does not fit your siding, send us pictures and we will send replacement parts at no charge until it does.
- Insulated, extra-thick, vertical, or unusually shaped siding profiles may need a custom part — text us a photo first.
How the Clips Hold On
- The top piece has a rotating clip that hooks into the horizontal seam at the bottom edge of a siding panel. You insert it at roughly a 45 degree angle, then rotate the mount down flat and the hook engages.
- The bottom piece is an adjustable hook that slides up under the bottom lip of that same panel. Sliding it up puts the whole assembly under tension, which is what makes it solid.
- Small #4 screws lock both clips at your panel width so nothing creeps over time.
- Outdoor mounting tape is included for the contact faces — it adds grip and keeps the mount from shifting sideways.
- Your Cove attaches to the custom front plate with the small screws we provide.
Why This Beats Screwing Into Siding
- Zero holes in the vinyl. Screw holes in siding are how water gets behind it. This avoids the problem entirely.
- Renter friendly. It comes off as cleanly as it goes on.
- Sits flat. Vinyl is curved and stepped; a flat doorbell plate on bare siding ends up crooked. This gives the Cove a true vertical surface.
- Three siding sizes covering most standard horizontal lap siding.
- Guaranteed fit with free replacement parts — just send photos.
- Angle on request. We can build a fixed tilt into this mount if you need the Cove aimed down the walkway.
- Replaceable top plate. Switch doorbells later and you only need a new adapter bracket.
- PETG, printed in the USA. UV stable and built for outdoor temperature swings.

How to Install Your Cove Vinyl Siding Mount
- Unpack and pre-set the hooks. Pull the bottom hook down slightly further apart than one siding plank is tall.
- Apply the tape (recommended). Peel the backing off the strips on the back of the top hook area and the bottom hook.
-
Insert the top hook. With the top clip loose, slide the hook into a horizontal siding seam at about a 45 degree upward angle. Rotate the mount down toward the wall and the hook catches the lip.
If it will not seat, hold the mount about 15 degrees off the wall and push gently upward while rotating — that is usually all it needs.
-
Lock the top clip. With the mount flat against the siding and positioned exactly where you want it, push the top clip in toward the wall and drive the small #4 x 1/4 inch screw to lock it.
Get the position right first. This screw is what fixes it in place.
- Slide the bottom hook up hard against the bottom lip of the same panel until the whole mount is snug and will not rattle.
- Add the side screws (optional) into the pilot holes on the bottom hook so it cannot slide back down.
- Hang the Cove Doorbell Cam. Attach it to the custom front plate with the provided #4 screws. Give the mount a firm wiggle first — it should not move.
- Test it. Press the button, check the app view, and adjust the aim if you ordered a tilt.
Check the clips for tightness once a season, especially after a windy stretch. Thirty seconds, and it stays rock solid for years.
Common Questions
Will this really hold without screws into the siding?
Yes — the tension between the top clip and the bottom hook is what holds it, and the locking screws keep that tension from loosening. A video doorbell weighs very little.
Does it damage the siding?
No. It uses the seams the siding already has. Take it off and there is nothing to patch.
What if my siding is 6 inches wide?
Choose the 5.5"–7.5" option above.
Can I use this with a wired doorbell?
It is designed around battery doorbells like the Cove, because there is no hole for a wire to come through the siding. If you have an existing wire, text us — we will suggest a different mount.
Can I take it with me when I move?
That is one of the main reasons people buy it. Unscrew the two small clip screws and it lifts out.
