Single Gang Box Mount with 0–35° Swivel for the Cove Doorbell Cam

This is a single gang box mount with an integrated 0–35° swivel for the Cove Doorbell Cam. It covers a standard single-gang electrical box — the kind already in the wall where an old lighted doorbell button or an intercom used to be — and the swivel joint lets you aim the Cove anywhere from straight ahead to 35 degrees to either side. The adapter plate is pre-drilled for the Cove Doorbell Cam, so no drilling or improvising on your end.

This is the one to buy when there is already a gang box in the wall and you need the camera turned. Cove's own specifications are on the Cove Doorbell Camera page.

Check Your Gang Box First

  • This mount fits a single-gang box with standard 3.281 inch screw hole spacing (center-to-center, vertical). That is the US standard, so most boxes match.
  • Measure yours before ordering. If it is a different size — a double-gang, a round box, an old oversized intercom plate — we can print a custom base for a small extra charge. Just ask.
  • Doorbell Model is already set to Cove Doorbell Cam (2026), so the correct adapter plate ships with it.
  • The base is larger than our trim mounts by design. If you need something narrow instead, look at our standard 0–35° swivel mount.

The 0–35° Swivel — What It Is For

A doorbell mounted on the same wall as the door, right beside the frame, ends up looking at the siding across from it instead of at whoever is walking up. The swivel fixes that. Loosen it, rotate the Cove until the app preview shows the walkway or driveway where you want it, then tighten it down.

  • Range: fully adjustable anywhere from 0 to 35 degrees.
  • Locks solid. Screws clamp the joint so it does not drift when someone presses the button — that is the complaint people have about cheap ball-joint mounts.
  • Rotatable base. You can turn the base to swivel horizontally or vertically, so the same part can also tilt the camera down toward a porch.
  • Wire passthrough through the swivel joint itself, so a hardwired install stays clean and nothing is pinched.

Need more than 35 degrees? Our 15–90° swivel is the one for sharper angles and side walls.

Single gang box doorbell mount with integrated 0-35 degree swivel Side view of the 35 degree swivel joint on a gang box doorbell mount

Install video: watch how one of our swivel mounts goes on — the doorbell in the video is a different model, but the mount and the swivel work the same way.

Worth reading:

If you are hardwiring into that gang box, a 16V 30VA doorbell transformer is the usual upgrade when an old one is undersized, and 18/2 doorbell wire covers most extensions. The Cove Doorbell Cam itself comes from Cove.

How to Install Your Cove Gang Box Swivel Mount

  1. Turn off the breaker feeding that box. Do this even if you only think there is live wiring behind the plate.
  2. Remove the old plate or button from the gang box and see what you are working with. Take a photo now — it helps if you need to ask us something later.
  3. Dry-fit the base. Hold the gang box base over the opening and confirm the two screw holes line up with the box's 3.281 inch tabs.
  4. Route the wire (if any) up through the passthrough in the swivel joint, leaving yourself a few inches of slack.
  5. Screw the base to the box using the provided screws into the box tabs. Check it is level before you fully tighten.

Gentle on the torque. The box tabs thread into thin metal and printed parts do not like being crushed.

  6. Attach the Cove adapter plate to the swivel face with the small #4 screws (PH1 bit).
  7. Wire and hang the Cove per Cove's instructions, using our screws for the bracket, not the stock Cove wall screws.
  8. Set the angle last. Power back on, open the Cove app, watch the live view, rotate the swivel until the framing is right, then tighten the swivel screws firmly.

Aiming with the live view on your phone takes a minute and saves you from taking it back apart.

  9. Press the button and make sure the angle did not shift. Done.

If the swivel ever loosens up after a few seasons of thermal cycling, a quarter turn on the joint screws brings it right back.

Questions We Get

How do I know if I have a single gang box?

Pull the existing plate and look. A single-gang box is a rectangular opening roughly 2 x 3 inches with one screw tab top and bottom, about 3.28 inches apart. Text us a photo if you are not sure.

My Cove is battery powered. Do I still need the box?

No — but if a box is already there, covering it with this mount is far tidier than patching the hole and mounting elsewhere.

Will the swivel hold at full 35 degrees?

Yes. The clamping screws lock the joint at any angle in the range.

Can I turn it the other way to tilt down instead of sideways?

Yes. Rotate the base 90 degrees when you mount it and the swivel becomes a vertical tilt.

What if I need more than 35 degrees?

Then you want the 15–90° version instead. Message us and we will link you to it.

Not Sure It Will Fit? Send Us a Picture First

We would much rather answer a question than ship you the wrong part. Text or email a photo of your Cove Doorbell Cam and the spot you want it mounted, and we will tell you honestly whether this mount is the right one.

Doorbell not included. You are buying the mount, the Cove-specific adapter bracket, and the assembly screws.

Material: 3D printed in outdoor-rated PETG — it handles sun, rain, snow and freeze/thaw far better than the PLA used in cheap printed mounts.

Standard color is black. We also print white, beige, bronze, brown and silver. Email or text us for a color before you order and we will set it up.

3D printed quality: these parts are printed to order, so you may see faint layer lines. They do not affect strength or fit. If you are ever unhappy with a part, contact us before leaving a review and we will make it right.
