Need to mount your Brick Extension by screwing into the side of adjacent brick or another perpendicular surface, instead of backwards into trim? Add this service to your order!

  • What it does: We modify the **Extension Base** piece of your chosen Brick Extension Mount by adding screw holes to the side face (parallel to the wall). Optionally, we can add a side wire entry hole ("mouse hole").
  • MUST be purchased WITH a compatible Brick Extension Mount (Centered or Offset). This service physically alters the mount you order before it ships. Find compatible mounts here.
  • Compatibility Suggestion: Recommended for Brick Extensions with a selected length of **at least 1 inch** to ensure adequate space for secure screw holes.
  • Specify Needs: Please indicate in the **Order Notes** at checkout if you specifically need the **side wire entry hole** added, and its approximate desired location (e.g., "bottom side"). Side screw holes will be added by default when this service is purchased.

No Trim to Mount On? Screw Directly into Brick!

In some installations, there isn't suitable trim behind the brickwork to securely mount a Brick Extension base. However, you might have solid brick or another sturdy surface directly beside where the extension base will sit.

This modification service prepares your Brick Extension base for this scenario. We add countersunk screw holes along the side face, allowing you to drive screws horizontally into the adjacent brick or surface for a strong, alternative mounting method.

Modification Details

  • Side Screw Holes Added: Countersunk holes are added to one side face of the Extension Base for horizontal fastening.
    • Typically 2 holes for extensions >= 1 inch long.
    • Typically 4 holes for extensions >= 2 inches long.
    • Hole placement optimized for strength based on selected extension length.
  • Optional Side Wire Hole: A 1/4" diameter "mouse hole" can be added to **both sides** (unless specified otherwise) near the base for wires entering horizontally, if requested in order notes.
  • Material: Modification performed on the durable PETG Extension Base.
  • Compatibility: Works with most DoorbellMount.com Brick Extension bases (Centered/Offset).

Installation Note for Modified Base

When installing a Brick Extension base modified with this service:

  1. Position the modified Extension Base against the trim location, ensuring the side with screw holes faces the brick/surface you intend to fasten into.
  2. Route wires (either through the back or the side "mouse hole" if added).
  3. Secure the base by driving appropriate screws (**NOT included**) horizontally through the added side holes into the brick or adjacent surface. Use suitable masonry anchors/screws for brick.
Ensure base is level and securely anchored. Pilot holes recommended. Do not overtighten screws into brick/anchors.
  1. Proceed with attaching the Top Doorbell Bracket and Doorbell as per the main Brick Extension instructions.

Modification Details: We will add standard side screw hole patterns based on the length ordered unless otherwise specified and agreed upon. Ensure the selected Brick Extension length is adequate (>= 1 inch recommended).

3D Printed Parts: The modified base is made from durable PETG. Minor cosmetic variations inherent to 3D printing may exist.
