0-35° Adjustable Mount for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell (1st Gen Wired)

Built for the original Google Nest Hello Doorbell (1st Generation Wired) — Nest's first video doorbell, launched 2018. 1600×1200 HDR video at 30 fps, 160° diagonal head-to-toe field of view, 24/7 streaming with Nest Aware, package + person + face detection (Familiar Faces with Nest Aware), HDR, IR night vision, and integration with the Google Home app + older Nest app. Still going strong in millions of homes years after launch. The bracket cradles the original Nest Hello body specifically (different from the Nest Doorbell Wired 2nd Gen and Battery models) and the 0-35° dual-axis ball joint aims the head-to-toe frame in any direction. Outdoor PETG, made-to-order in the USA.

Custom-Fit for the Original Nest Hello (1st Gen Wired)

This bracket is shaped specifically for the original Google Nest Hello Doorbell (1st Generation Wired) — the doorbell launched in March 2018 and rebranded "Nest Doorbell (wired)" in 2020 before the Gen 2 came out. 1600×1200 head-to-toe video (3:4 portrait aspect), 160° diagonal field of view, HDR, IR night vision (850nm), 24/7 video streaming (with Nest Aware), Familiar Faces detection (with Nest Aware), package detection, two-way talk. Wired-only operation: requires existing 16-24V AC doorbell wiring. Original ASIN B07KGTXV9G; later rebadged versions also available.

Does NOT fit: the Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 2nd Gen 2022 - B0BBSLG6PC) or the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery, 2021 - B09FCLPLWX) — both are different bodies with their own dedicated mount listings on our store. If you bought your Nest Doorbell after September 2021, you almost certainly have the 2nd Gen — different mount.

Confused which Nest Doorbell you have? The 1st Gen Hello has the original taller cylindrical body, was sold from 2018-2021 (later under "Google Nest Doorbell wired"), and shows up in the Nest app (the older one before merging into Google Home). The 2nd Gen Wired is smaller/squared with rounded corners and has a different rear connector. The Battery Doorbell has a charging port + removable battery — totally different body.

The Original Smart Doorbell — Aim It Right

The Nest Hello 1st Gen was the doorbell that defined the smart-doorbell category alongside the original Ring. Familiar Faces detection (with Nest Aware) and 24/7 continuous recording were genuinely ahead of their time. Even today, the head-to-toe 1600×1200 frame catches more than most modern 1080p doorbells thanks to the 3:4 portrait orientation.

The 160° diagonal head-to-toe view is wasted if it's pointed at the wall. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount rotates the Hello in any direction up to 35°, locks permanently with set screws, and routes the existing 16-24V wires cleanly through the joint.

Two-Axis Aiming, 0-35° Range

One smooth ball joint. Aim left, right, up, or down — all the way to 35° in any direction. Lock with set screws.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Low-voltage wires enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the ball-joint mount, route through the front adapter, and connect directly to the doorbell terminals.

What You Get

  • Custom Bracket for Nest Hello 1st Gen: Pre-shaped pocket fits the original Nest Hello body — flush, no rattle.
  • Dual-Axis 0-35° Swivel: Aim the 160° head-to-toe 3:4 portrait frame precisely; lock with set screws.
  • Wire Pass-Through: Routes 16-24V AC doorbell wires through the joint cleanly.
  • Outdoor-Rated PETG: UV-stable, freeze-tolerant.
  • Universal Base: Future-proof — switch doorbells later for a ~$10 adapter swap.
  • Replaces Nest Wedge: Nest's stock mount is a fixed wedge — this 0-35° dual-axis option adds the second axis you actually need on most porches.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the Nest Hello 1st Gen

  1. Verify Wiring + Transformer: Confirm 16-24V AC at the doorbell location with a 10VA-min transformer (Nest specifies 10VA min, recommends 20VA). Lower-VA installs cause boot loops.
  2. Power Down:
Turn the breaker off at the chime circuit. Verify with a tester at the existing wires before pulling them through the mount.
  3. Pair Indoors First: Open the Google Home app (or older Nest app), add the doorbell. Easier to pair indoors with strong Wi-Fi before mounting.
  4. Mount the Base: Pull the wires through the swivel base, position vertical (Nest Hello is taller than wide for the 3:4 head-to-toe frame), secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver).
  5. Attach the Swivel: Route wires through the swivel center, attach with four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  6. Connect & Mount the Hello: Connect doorbell-circuit wires to the Nest Hello's screw terminals. Snap onto the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — not Nest's stock wedge.
  7. Aim & Lock: Live View in Google Home → adjust the swivel until the 160° head-to-toe frame catches face top + package zone bottom → tighten set screws.
  8. Configure Detection Zones + Familiar Faces: In Google Home: enable person/package detection, configure activity zones, and set up Familiar Faces (requires Nest Aware subscription). Locked aim keeps Familiar Faces calibration consistent.

Service tip: the Nest Hello 1st Gen still works with current Google Home, but the older Nest app is being phased out. If you haven't migrated your account, do that first — Google's migration tool walks you through it. Nest Aware is optional but unlocks 24/7 recording, Familiar Faces, and 30-60 days of event history.
