Upgrade to a new Ring Retinal 2K or 4K doorbell without drilling new holes. This black retrofit plate mounts to the screw holes left by your older Ring doorbell, or to a standard US rectangular junction box, and gives your new, narrower Ring doorbell a clean place to sit. Pick the standard plate with small black screws showing, or the covered kit with a snap-on cover that hides every screw and old hole.
Compatibility: Select What You Have Now and Your New Doorbell
New Ring doorbells are narrower than the old ones, so the old screw holes can end up showing. This plate covers them and gives the new bracket something solid to mount to.
- Older Video Doorbell (2nd Gen): The older model with a built-in battery that does not come out. This is not the same as Ring Video Doorbell 2.
- Older removable-battery doorbell: Older Ring doorbells with a battery pack that slides out. The top two screw holes sit closer to the middle and the other two are near the bottom.
- US Junction Box (Rectangular): Your doorbell wires come out of a standard rectangular electrical box in the wall, with one screw hole at the top and one at the bottom. Sold as the covered, hidden-screw kit only.
- New doorbell: Choose your exact new Ring model. "2K" or "4K" alone does not tell us which bracket you have.
Send a photo before you order: Email or text us a photo of your old screw holes (or junction box) and the exact name of your new doorbell. We will confirm the fit so you get the right plate the first time.

Key Features & Benefits
- No new holes: Reuse the screw holes from your old Ring doorbell, or the two screws on your junction box.
- Hides the old footprint: The plate is wider than the new doorbell, so old holes and paint lines stay out of sight.
- Hidden-screw option: The covered kit snaps a smooth cover over the base so no wall screws show.
- Wire opening: Your existing doorbell wires pass straight through the center of the plate.
- Simple tools: A Phillips screwdriver is all most installs need.
- Standard plate finish: The standard plate is 3D printed, so light layer lines are normal.
What's Included

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reuse my old Ring doorbell screw holes?
Yes. That is what this plate is for. Choose the pattern that matches your old doorbell and your exact new Ring model, and send us a photo so we can confirm the fit.
Can I mount a new Ring doorbell on a junction box?
Yes. Choose the US Junction Box option. The base plate fastens to the top and bottom screw holes of a standard rectangular box, and the cover hides the screws. This option is sold with the cover only.
Is Ring Video Doorbell 2 the same as Video Doorbell (2nd Gen)?
No. Ring Video Doorbell 2 has a battery that slides out. The older Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) has a built-in battery. They use different screw-hole patterns, so pick carefully or send us a photo.
Which new Ring doorbells does this work with?
You can select Ring Battery Doorbell 2K, Battery Doorbell 2K Plus, Battery Doorbell 4K Pro, Wired Doorbell 2K, Wired Doorbell 2K Plus, and Wired Doorbell 4K Pro. Please confirm fit with a photo before ordering. Contact us about Elite or PoE models.
Will I still see the mounting screws?
With the standard plate you will see four small black screw heads around the new doorbell. With the covered kit you will not see any wall screws.
Do I need to drill?
Usually not. If your old holes or anchors are still solid, a Phillips screwdriver is enough. You only need a drill if you have to set new anchors.
Does the plate change how my doorbell is powered?
No. It is only a mounting plate. Follow Ring's power, wiring, and chime instructions for your doorbell.
