Extend Your Lorex 2k/4k Straight Out from Recessed Trim!

Is your Lorex 2k or 4k Doorbell mounting spot set back behind brick or other obstructions? This **Centered Extension Mount** brings your doorbell forward by the exact length you choose, using a simple **one-piece design**. It aims to position the **front face** of the doorbell approximately **flush with your brick** for a clean look.

It features a **1-inch wide base** perfect for narrow trim (>= 1" wide) and extends straight out (centered, no offset). Avoids drilling into masonry by mounting directly to your existing trim!

How it Works: One-Piece Centered Extension

This mount is a **single, solid piece** designed to extend your doorbell straight forward from the wall (centered, with no sideways offset). It provides a flat mounting surface at the specified extension length, ready to accept your Lorex doorbell's own mounting bracket.

The goal when measuring (see guide below) is to get the **front face** of your Lorex doorbell approximately **flush** with your brick face.

Base Dimensions & Mounting: This extension base is 1 inch wide (requires >= 1" surface). Standard mounting hole spacing is typically 2 inches (center-to-center) for our fixed mounts. Ensure solid mounting on trim. Wall-mounting screws not included.

Angled Trim? If your 1" trim is angled, standard angle shims may not fit. Please contact us to discuss custom solutions.

CRITICAL: Measure for Extension Length (Face Flush Goal)!

Choose the correct extension length to position the front face of your doorbell approximately flush with your brick face. Measure carefully:

  • Method 1 (Most Accurate - If you HAVE doorbell):
    1. Temporarily hold your Lorex doorbell so its FRONT FACE level/flush with the outer face of the brick.
    2. Measure the distance straight back from the surface where the mount base will attach (your trim) to the flat mounting surface on the BACK of your doorbell.
    3. Order THIS measurement as your required Extension Length.
  • Method 2 (Estimate - If NO doorbell):
    1. Measure the distance straight out from trim surface to outer brick face.
    2. Subtract approx. **1 inch** (estimated doorbell thickness). Order this calculated length.
      (Note: Result may be slightly proud of flush. Method 1 preferred.)

How to Install Your Lorex Extension Mount

This is a one-piece extension mount.

  1. Tools & Prep: Gather: Drill, PH1 & PH2 Philips Screwdrivers/Bits, Level, Anchors (if needed), Lorex mounting bracket & hardware.
    Turn OFF power at the breaker!
  2. Mount Extension Mount to Wall: Position the **One-Piece Extension Mount** (correct length) on your >=1" trim over wires. Attach securely using appropriate screws (#6 size likely, use PH2) and anchors into the 2" spaced holes (verify spacing).
    Ensure mount is level. Drill pilot holes if needed. Do NOT overtighten screws.
  3. Attach Lorex Backplate: Route wires through the center hole of the **mounting plate that came WITH your Lorex Doorbell**. Secure this Lorex plate onto the *face* of the Extension Mount using the small screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (typically #4 / PH1). Ensure correct orientation.
    Do NOT use Lorex's long wall screws here. Use correct PH1 driver. Tighten snugly.
  4. Wire & Mount Lorex Doorbell: Connect wires to the Lorex backplate following Lorex instructions. Mount the Lorex Doorbell unit onto its backplate.
  5. Final Check & Power On: Ensure doorbell is secure. Turn power back on and test.

Follow safety rules & Lorex guidelines. Use correct anchors/screws. Correct screwdriver size prevents stripping.
