This is the right pick when your doorbell would otherwise be recessed BEHIND the front face of the brick. Common when the trim or mounting surface sits significantly behind the brick face (often more than 1.5"). The extension fills that gap so the doorbell ends flush with the brick.

Brick face installs can be tricky. Add-ons for tough cases:

Installing Your Brick Face Extension on the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro PoE

  1. Prepare: If a Ring doorbell is already installed, remove it. For wired installs: turn OFF power at the breaker, disconnect the existing 16-24V wires, cap with wire nuts.
    For the Wired Pro PoE: doorbell needs Pro PoE supports either 16-24V AC OR 802.3af PoE (44-57V DC over Cat-5e). For PoE installs, route a single Cat-5e through the center hole — no separate transformer needed. For AC installs, 30VA transformer recommended.
  2. Route Wires: Lead the existing 16-24V doorbell wires through the rear of the brick face extension and out the front opening. Make sure the wires reach into the doorbell’s back cavity with a few inches of slack for connection.
  3. Mount the Extension Base: Position the back of the extension over the wood trim (or recessed mounting surface) where your old doorbell was. The base anchors to the trim with 2 provided #6 wood screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver. The front face will sit flush with (or just inside) the front face of the brick.
    For deeper extensions (over 3 inches), drive the optional brick anchor screw through the extension into the brick face for extra pull-out strength. This is recommended on any extension over 3" or any battery doorbell install.
  4. Attach the Mounting Bracket: Fasten the Wired Pro PoE adapter bracket to the front of the extension using the 4 small #4 center screws (preinstalled). USE #1 Phillips PRECISION screwdriver for the smaller screws.
  5. Connect the Doorbell: Strip the wires (1/4" stripping) and connect to the Wired Pro PoE terminals. Polarity does NOT matter for AC. Tuck excess wire neatly behind the doorbell.
  6. Secure and Finalize: Mount the Ring Wired Doorbell Pro PoE to the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (not the original Ring screws). Reinstall the cover. Apply silicone caulk along the back perimeter where the extension meets the trim/brick if needed (skip the bottom edge for drainage). Restore power. Open the Ring app → Live View. Verify framing and redraw motion zones.

A #1 Phillips PRECISION screwdriver. The #4 center screws that attach the doorbell adapter bracket to the extension front are too small for a regular #1 Phillips — you need a precision driver (the kind used for eyeglasses or electronics). A regular #1 will be too big and strip the screw heads.
Is the brick face extension weatherproof?
Yes — UV-stable PETG (not PLA), freeze-tolerant across normal North American climate ranges. Apply a small bead of clear silicone along the top and side edges if needed (skip the bottom edge for drainage). Real-world brick face installs are 4+ years and counting.
