Battery-Friendly Brick Face Extension for the Ring Battery 2nd Gen — Doorbell Sits Flush, Anchored Solid

Battery doorbells are heavier than wired-only models, so for a brick face install we recommend driving the optional brick anchor screw to keep the extension solid. This Brick Face Extension for the Ring Battery 2nd Gen (2026) extends from your wood trim out to the brick face — doorbell sits flush, sensor reads the porch cleanly. Custom-cut depth from 1-1/2 inch to 8 inches: measure your trim-to-brick gap, subtract 1 inch (doorbell thickness), and order that depth.

Sized for the Ring Battery 2nd Gen (Amazon ASIN B0G2D1R15Q) with built-in (non-removable) battery, Retinal 2K, head-to-toe view. 3D-printed to-order in the USA from UV-stable PETG, freeze-tolerant. Free shipping over $100, Replacement Guarantee covers a swap if your measurement is off.

CRITICAL: How to Measure for Brick Face Extensions

Brick Face Extensions are custom-cut to your exact depth. Measuring is the most important step — if the depth is wrong, the doorbell won’t sit flush. Two methods:

How to measure trim to brick face for Battery 2nd Gen brick face extension
Method A — You HAVE your doorbell: Hold the doorbell against the brick face. Measure from the wood trim (where the bracket base will mount) to the BACK of the doorbell. Order that exact length.
Method B — You DON’T have your doorbell yet: Measure from the wood trim straight to the FRONT face of the brick. Then subtract 1 inch for the doorbell’s depth. Order that result.

Example: If trim sits 3 inches behind the brick face, order the 2-inch extension — the doorbell’s 1-inch body added to the 2-inch extension equals 3 inches, putting the front of the doorbell flush with the brick face.

Not sure? Send a photo and your measurement to shop@doorbellmount.com — we’ll confirm the right depth before you order. Wrong size? Replacement Guarantee covers a free swap.

Compatibility — Custom-Cut for the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen (Retinal 2K)

  • This brick face extension is custom-cut for the Ring Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen, 2026) — Amazon ASIN B0G2D1R15Q. Ring’s entry-level battery doorbell with Retinal 2K, head-to-toe view, and built-in (non-removable) rechargeable battery.
  • Does NOT fit: the Battery Plus 2nd Gen, the Battery Pro 2nd Gen, the older Battery 1st Gen / 2/3/4 / Plus / Pro, the Ring Wired line, or the Ring Stick Up Cam. Each Ring model has its own dedicated brick face extension on our store.
  • Not sure which Ring you have? Send a photo of the back of your doorbell to shop@doorbellmount.com — we’ll confirm fit before you order.

Brick Face Extension — The Doorbell Sits Flush with the Brick

This is the right pick when your doorbell would otherwise be recessed BEHIND the front face of the brick. Common when the trim or mounting surface sits significantly behind the brick face (often more than 1.5"). The extension fills that gap so the doorbell ends flush with the brick.

Pick the right offset for your install: Use Standard Offset Brick Mount if you only need to push the doorbell forward a bit (clear a storm door). Use Full Offset Brick Mount if your install is on the side of a brick edge or you need wider clearance. Use this Brick Face Extension if your doorbell would be recessed and you want it FLUSH with the brick face.

Customization & Add-On Options

Brick face installs can be tricky. Add-ons for tough cases:

Installing Your Brick Face Extension on the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen

  1. Prepare: If a Ring doorbell is already installed, pop the battery out and set it aside. No wiring to disconnect on a battery doorbell.
Battery 2nd Gen has a built-in (non-removable) rechargeable battery — no doorbell wiring required. Optional 5V USB-C trickle-charge cable can route through the back-to-front cavity for continuous charging without unmounting.
  2. Wire Routing (Optional): Battery installs — skip the wire routing step. If you’re using a trickle-charge cable, lead it through the rear of the extension to the front.
  3. Mount the Extension Base: Position the back of the extension over the wood trim (or recessed mounting surface) where your old doorbell was. The base anchors to the trim with 2 provided #6 wood screws using a #2 Phillips screwdriver. The front face will sit flush with (or just inside) the front face of the brick.
For deeper extensions (over 3 inches), drive the optional brick anchor screw through the extension into the brick face for extra pull-out strength. This is recommended on any extension over 3" or any battery doorbell install.
  4. Attach the Mounting Bracket: Fasten the Battery 2nd Gen adapter bracket to the front of the extension using the 4 small #4 center screws (preinstalled). USE #1 Phillips PRECISION screwdriver for the smaller screws.
  5. Mount the Doorbell: Slot the Battery 2nd Gen body onto the front face of the extension. If using trickle-charge, attach before mounting.
  6. Secure and Finalize: Mount the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen to the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (not the original Ring screws). Reinstall the cover. Apply silicone caulk along the back perimeter where the extension meets the trim/brick if needed (skip the bottom edge for drainage). Restore power. Open the Ring app → Live View. Verify framing and redraw motion zones.

Tools recap: #2 Phillips screwdriver (#6 wood screws into trim), #1 Phillips PRECISION screwdriver (#4 adapter screws and doorbell screws), drill (optional pilot holes), level, multimeter (wired models), clear silicone caulk. OPTIONAL only for deep extensions or battery installs: 1/8" masonry bit + brick anchor screw.

FAQ — Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen Brick Face Extension

Does this fit the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen?
Yes. The front-face mounting plate is shaped for the Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen (Amazon ASIN B0G2D1R15Q). For other Ring models, see our model-specific brick face extension listings.
How do I measure for the right depth?
Measure from the surface where the bracket base will mount (the wood trim, or recessed surface where the old doorbell was) straight out to the FRONT FACE of the brick. THEN subtract 1 inch (the thickness of the doorbell itself) and pick the variant matching that result. Example: if your trim sits 3 inches behind the brick face, order the 2 inch extension — the doorbell will then sit flush with the brick. If your doorbell isn’t in hand yet, just measure trim-to-brick-face and subtract 1 inch.
How is the Brick Face Extension different from the Standard Offset and Full Offset?
The Standard Offset ($38) and Full Offset ($50) push your doorbell PAST the face of the brick (small to medium projection forward). The Brick Face Extension (this listing, $30-$110) extends from a recessed mounting surface OUT TO the brick face so the doorbell sits flush with the brick. Pick Standard/Full Offset if your trim sits at or near the brick face. Pick Brick Face Extension if your doorbell would otherwise be recessed in a hole.
What if I order the wrong depth and it doesn’t fit?
Send us a picture of your install attempt and the doorbell. Under our Replacement Guarantee, we’ll ship the correct depth at NO additional cost. Just reach out via text/email before installing the wrong one (so we can re-print at the right depth).
What screwdriver do I need for the small bracket screws?
A #1 Phillips PRECISION screwdriver. The #4 center screws that attach the doorbell adapter bracket to the extension front are too small for a regular #1 Phillips — you need a precision driver (the kind used for eyeglasses or electronics). A regular #1 will be too big and strip the screw heads.
Is the brick face extension weatherproof?
Yes — UV-stable PETG (not PLA), freeze-tolerant across normal North American climate ranges. Apply a small bead of clear silicone along the top and side edges if needed (skip the bottom edge for drainage). Real-world brick face installs are 4+ years and counting.
Do I lose battery life or any Ring features using this extension?
No. The extension is a passive 3D-printed PETG part with no electronics — it doesn’t draw power and doesn’t affect Wi-Fi signal. All Ring Battery Doorbell 2nd Gen features — Retinal 2K, head-to-toe view, motion zones, Live View — work exactly as on the stock plate. After install, redraw motion zones.
Can I get this in a brick-matching color?
Default ships in Black. For brick-matching prints (red, tan, or gray), use the Color Change Request product at checkout. Custom color adds 1-2 days to fulfillment but matches your brick exactly.
What depths are available?
From 1-1/2 inch to 8 inches in 1/8 inch increments. The default 2 inch size is the most common pick for standard 3-inch brick where the trim sits ~1 inch behind the brick face. Pricing scales with depth from $30 (1-1/2 inch) up to $110 (8 inch).
