This bracket is shaped specifically for the original Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro Gen 1 (also known as the Vivint Doorbell V3). Vivint's first-generation doorbell with: 1080p HD video, 180° diagonal field of view, HDR, IR night vision, two-way audio, integrated chime, motion detection with smart deterrence (lurker detection that announces visitors automatically), and full integration with Vivint Smart Home professional monitoring. Hardwired-only: requires existing 16-24V AC doorbell wiring. Sold direct through Vivint dealers, not Amazon — typically with a Vivint security service plan.

Does NOT fit: the newer Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro Gen 2 / Pro 2 (different square body — see our separate Gen 2 listing) or any non-Vivint doorbell. Vivint doorbells only work with active Vivint Smart Home service. Also does not fit Ring, Nest, Wyze, Eufy, or any other consumer brand.

Confused which Vivint you have? The Gen 1 has a more cylindrical/rounded body with a smaller round lens, was paired with the Vivint SkyControl or Smart Hub 2.0 panels (2018-2022 era installs), and does NOT have proactive package guard with audio. If yours has the proactive package guard feature (talks to delivery drivers automatically) and a square-ish lens window, you have the Gen 2 — different mount.

The Original Vivint Doorbell — Aim It Right

The Gen 1 Vivint Doorbell was a step ahead of consumer doorbells when it launched: integrated lurker detection (automated audio greetings to suspicious motion), no separate cloud subscription on top of Vivint service, and tight integration with Vivint's pro-monitored alarm panel. It's still a solid doorbell for households on the older Vivint Smart Hub 2.0 — no need to upgrade to Gen 2 if your existing install works.

180° diagonal coverage is plenty for typical porches, but only when aimed at the porch instead of the wall. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount rotates the Gen 1 in any direction up to 35°, locks permanently with set screws, and routes the existing 16-24V wires cleanly through the joint. Locked aim is critical for pro-monitored alarm-system installs — drift can register as a tamper event with Vivint's central station.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Low-voltage wires enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the ball-joint mount, route through the front adapter, and connect directly to the doorbell terminals. No exposed wiring, no weather risk.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro Gen 1

  1. Coordinate With Vivint Support: If your Vivint system is professionally monitored, call Vivint support before swapping the mount and request to put your panel on test mode for 1 hour. Replacing the doorbell can register as a tamper event and trigger central-station response.
  2. Power Down:
    Turn the breaker off at the chime circuit. Verify with a tester at the existing wires before pulling them through the mount.
  3. Verify Wiring: Confirm 16-24V AC at the doorbell location. Vivint Gen 1 requires hardwired power — no battery option.
  4. Mount the Base: Pull the doorbell wires through the hole in the swivel base, position vertical (Vivint Gen 1 is taller than wide — vertical orientation is most natural), secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed.
  5. Attach the Swivel: Route the wires through the swivel center, attach to the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  6. Connect & Mount the Vivint: Connect the two doorbell-circuit wires to the Vivint's screw terminals. Snap onto the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — not Vivint's stock plate.
  7. Pair to Vivint Smart Hub: Restore power. The Gen 1 should auto-rejoin your existing Vivint panel — if it doesn't, your Vivint tech can re-pair it remotely.
  8. Aim & Lock: Live View in the Vivint app → adjust the swivel until the 180° frame catches your full porch (visitor face top, package zone bottom) → tighten the set screws.
  9. Confirm Pro-Monitoring: Call Vivint to take your panel out of test mode. Confirm tamper detection still works on the doorbell.

Upgrade tip: if your Gen 1 is showing its age (slow live view, dropouts, weak night vision), the Gen 2 is a real upgrade — 180×180 square coverage, proactive package guard, much better HDR. Vivint will swap it for ~$200 if you're an active service customer. Keep this mount + just order a replacement Gen 2 bracket adapter for ~$10 from our store.
