2K at 150° wide is plenty for a typical porch — but only when the camera is aimed at the porch instead of the wall next to it. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount rotates the myQ in any direction up to 35°, supports both the battery-only and hardwired install paths, and locks permanently with set screws. The USB-C charge port stays accessible without unmounting.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the Chamberlain myQ Video Doorbell

  1. Charge First (Battery Mode): Charge the myQ doorbell fully via USB-C (~5 hours from empty). Pair to the myQ app on your phone BEFORE mounting — easier indoors. If you have an existing myQ garage door opener, the doorbell shows up in the same app.
  2. Optional: Plan Wiring: If you want continuous trickle-charge, identify your existing doorbell wires (16-24V AC required, 10VA min transformer). Otherwise the battery alone runs ~3 months between charges depending on usage.
  3. Power Down (If Wiring):
    If hardwiring: turn the breaker off first. Test with a multimeter or non-contact tester before pulling wires through the mount.
  4. Mount the Base: Position vertical on your siding/trim (myQ is taller than wide — vertical orientation is most natural), secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed if not into a stud.
  5. Attach the Swivel: Route wires through (skip if battery-only), screw onto the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws.
  6. Snap the myQ In: Battery: just snap on. Hardwired: connect transformer leads first. Use the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — NOT Chamberlain's stock back plate.
  7. Aim & Lock + Configure AI: Live View in the myQ app → adjust the swivel until the 150° frame fully covers your porch path → tighten set screws. Then in the app: train AI face recognition by tagging recognized faces.

myQ + garage door tip: if you have a Chamberlain garage door opener, set up an automation in myQ so when the doorbell sees a recognized family member, the garage opens automatically. Aim the swivel so the camera catches faces clearly at the approach distance — face recognition works best when the visitor is 4-8ft away.
