What is a doorbell wedge mount?
A doorbell wedge mount is a fixed-angle 3D-printed bracket that tilts your video doorbell at a specific, locked angle — either horizontal (left/right) or vertical (up/down). Unlike adjustable swivel mounts, the angle is permanent. You pick the angle on the product page.
When should I use a wedge instead of an adjustable swivel?
Use a wedge when you know the exact angle you need, when you want the cleanest visual install (wedges have a much smaller profile than swivels), and when you don't expect to re-aim the camera in the future. Use an Adjustable Swivel if you might want to re-aim later, or if you need both horizontal and vertical adjustment in one product.
What's the difference between a horizontal wedge and a vertical wedge?
A horizontal wedge pans the camera left or right (15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, or 75°). A vertical wedge tilts the camera up or down (5°, 10°, or 15°). If you need both, you can either stack a horizontal and vertical wedge together, or step up to an Adjustable Swivel for dual-axis control.
How do I know which angle to pick?
For horizontal: stand at the doorbell location and look toward where visitors approach. If the walkway is slightly off-center, 15-30°. If it's significantly to one side, 45-60°. If it's nearly perpendicular, 75° (or consider an Adjustable Swivel). For vertical: 5° corrects for mounting that's slightly off; 10-15° corrects for clearly-too-high or clearly-too-low installs.
Are the horizontal wedges reversible (left or right)?
Yes. Most horizontal wedges install in either orientation, so the same product covers a left-aim install or a right-aim install. Just flip the mount before attaching.
What's a gang-box wedge?
A gang-box wedge has a base sized to cover a standard single-gang electrical box. It's the right choice when your wired doorbell sits over an existing electrical box and you want both the angle correction and the clean cover-over in one piece.
