This listing is for one **ADD-ON Custom-Width Filler Shim** designed to fit alongside our **Brick Extension Mounts** (specifically those with the standard 9/16" wide base).
- Primary Purpose: Fills the gap between the side of the extension body and uneven brick, **adding lateral stability** and preventing the extension from being easily pushed or wiggled sideways.
- Cosmetic Benefit: Creates a cleaner, more integrated look by hiding unsightly gaps.
- Custom Width: You measure the gap and select the required **Shim Width** from the options for a snug fit.
- Requires Measurement: Accurate measurement is crucial (See Measurement Guide below).
- Brick Extension Mount NOT included. This shim is an accessory for a mount purchased separately or previously.

CRITICAL: How to Measure for SHIM WIDTH
To order the correct filler shim width for both stability and appearance, please measure the gap accurately:
- Ensure your Brick Extension base (9/16" wide version) is installed firmly in its final position on the trim.
- Measure the horizontal distance from the **nearest edge of the brick** straight across to the **CENTER of the wall mounting screw hole** on the Brick Extension base.
- From that measurement, **SUBTRACT 1/4 inch** (approx. half the width of the 9/16" base).
- The result is the **Shim Width** you should select from the options. Ordering the correct width ensures a snug fit for stability.
Example:
- Distance from Brick Edge to Center of Screw Hole = 1 inch
- Subtract 1/4 inch: 1" - 1/4" = 3/4 inch
- Select **3/4 inch** as the Shim Width option.

How to Install the Side Filler Shim
This shim is typically installed AFTER your main Brick Extension mount is fully secured to the wall trim.
- Clean Surfaces: Ensure the side of the installed Brick Extension body and the adjacent brick edge are clean and dry.
- Test Fit: Check that the shim fits snugly into the gap.
- Apply Adhesive (Recommended): Apply a strong outdoor-grade construction adhesive or durable silicone sealant to the back and/or edges of the Filler Shim.
- Position Shim: Carefully press the shim firmly into the gap between the extension body and the brick edge. Ensure it's fully seated and provides support along the extension's length.
- Secure & Cure: Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately. Hold the shim in place momentarily or use temporary tape if needed while the adhesive fully cures (follow adhesive manufacturer's instructions).
Ensure your main Brick Extension mount is securely installed first. A snug fit combined with strong adhesive is key for optimal stability and weather sealing.
