0-35° Adjustable Mount for the Tapo D230S1 (Battery Video Doorbell + Hub)

Made for the Tapo D230S1 Smart Battery Video Doorbell Kit — the 2K 5MP wireless model that ships with a removable 6700mAh battery and a separate sub-G chime/hub. The bracket is shaped specifically for the D230S1's older body (different from the D210/D225/D235 family) so it sits flush and the rear battery door stays accessible. 0-35° dual-axis ball joint aims the 4:3 head-to-toe frame in two directions. Outdoor PETG, made-to-order in the USA.

Custom-Fit for the Tapo D230S1 (with Hub Kit)

This bracket is shaped specifically for the Tapo D230S1 Smart Battery Video Doorbell — Amazon ASIN B0CB1Z5Q1L (sub-G chime/hub included). TP-Link's previous-gen battery doorbell with 2K 5MP resolution, 4:3 head-to-toe aspect ratio, removable rechargeable 6700mAh battery (~6 months per charge), full-color night vision spotlight, IP64 rating, free AI person detection, two-way audio, microSD or Tapo Care cloud storage. The kit includes a separate sub-G hub that doubles as a chime — sub-G connection means longer range and lower latency than Wi-Fi-only doorbells.

Does NOT fit: the Tapo D210/D225/D235 (newer body shape, integrated battery, USB-C charging) or the Tapo D130 (wired-only). Each Tapo model family has its own dedicated mount listing. Also does not fit Ring, Nest, Wyze, Eufy, Aqara, or any non-Tapo brand.

Confused which Tapo you have? The D230S1 ships in a kit box with TWO devices — the doorbell AND a separate puck-shaped sub-G hub that doubles as the chime. If yours has only an integrated battery (no removable pack) and uses USB-C charging, that's a D210/D225 — different mount. If yours is wired-only with no battery option at all, that's a D130 — different mount.

Sub-G Hub + Removable Battery — A Different Beast

The D230S1 was Tapo's first serious battery doorbell, and it still has things the newer ones don't: a removable battery pack (so you can swap a charged spare in 10 seconds instead of pulling the whole doorbell off the wall), and a sub-G radio link to its bundled hub instead of pure Wi-Fi to the cloud.

That sub-G connection means the D230S1 talks to its hub through walls and across long yards in a way Wi-Fi-only doorbells can't match — the hub then bridges to your home network. The 4:3 aspect ratio with 160° diagonal view captures faces and packages in one frame. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount aims that frame at the actual porch instead of the siding next to it.

Two-Axis Aiming, 0-35° Range

One smooth ball joint. Aim left, right, up, or down — all the way to 35° in any direction. Lock the angle with set screws. Done.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Low-voltage wires enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the ball-joint mount, route through the front adapter, and connect directly to the doorbell terminals. No exposed wiring, no weather risk.

What You Get

  • Custom Bracket for Tapo D230S1: Pre-shaped pocket fits the D230S1's older body geometry — flush mount, no rattle, no obstruction.
  • Dual-Axis 0-35° Swivel: Aim the 4:3 head-to-toe 2K frame precisely; lock with set screws.
  • Removable-Battery Friendly: Designed so the rear battery door stays reachable for 10-second swaps without unmounting the entire doorbell.
  • Outdoor-Rated PETG: Matches the D230S1's IP64 rating.
  • Hub Sits Indoors: Bracket only mounts the doorbell — the included sub-G hub plugs in indoors near your door (it's also the chime).
  • Siding Compatible: Flat surfaces and lapped siding up to 1.8" wide.
  • Universal Base: Future-proof — switch doorbells later for a ~$10 adapter swap.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the Tapo D230S1

  1. Set Up the Hub Indoors First: Plug the sub-G chime/hub indoors near the front door (within ~30ft of where the D230S1 will mount), pair to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi via the Tapo app. The hub IS the chime AND the sub-G bridge.
  2. Charge the Battery: Pull the removable battery, charge to full via USB-C (~7 hours). Reinstall in the doorbell.
  3. Mount the Base: Position vertical or horizontal on your siding/trim, secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed.
  4. Attach the Swivel: Screw onto the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws. (No wires required — the D230S1 is battery-only by design.)
  5. Pair the Doorbell: Add the D230S1 to the Tapo app via the hub (sub-G discovery). Place a test press to confirm the hub chimes.
  6. Snap In + Aim & Lock: Use the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver). Live View → adjust until the 4:3 frame covers porch top-to-bottom → tighten set screws.

Cold-weather tip: removable battery is a real advantage in winter — you can pull and charge indoors instead of bringing the whole camera inside. Keep a spare battery on a USB-C charger for true zero-downtime operation.
