Confused which Reolink you have? The PoE model has an RJ45 Ethernet port on the back and ships with the Chime V2 in the box. If yours is wired but uses regular doorbell wires (not Ethernet) and connects via 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi, that's the WiFi Plug-In — different listing. If yours has a battery compartment and 1:1 head-to-toe view, that's the Battery model — different mount.

PoE = One Cable, Rock-Solid Connection

The Reolink PoE doorbell is the install-it-and-forget-it choice. One CAT5e/CAT6 cable carries both power and data — no separate transformer to wire, no Wi-Fi dropouts to debug. Pair it with a Reolink NVR for 24/7 continuous recording (the WiFi/Battery models can only do event recording).

The 4:3 aspect at 180° diagonal is genuinely useful for capturing both the visitor and the doorstep, but only when the camera is aimed at where people actually walk. This 0-35° dual-axis swivel mount rotates the doorbell up to 35° in any direction so the wide frame catches the porch instead of half the wall, and the wire pass-through is sized to accept your terminated Ethernet cable cleanly.

Internal Wire Routing — Hidden & Protected

Low-voltage wires enter from the wall, pass through the hidden internal channel inside the ball-joint mount, route through the front adapter, and connect directly to the doorbell terminals. No exposed wiring, no weather risk.

Customization & Add-Ons

Installing on the Reolink Video Doorbell PoE

  1. Pull & Terminate CAT5e/CAT6: Pull a CAT5e or CAT6 cable from your PoE switch/injector to the doorbell location. Terminate with an RJ45 connector. If you're using 12-24V AC/DC instead, pull standard doorbell wires from your transformer.
  2. Test the Cable: Plug into the PoE switch and into the doorbell on the bench (don't mount yet). Verify Live View comes up in the Reolink app and the Chime V2 pairs to your network. Always test before mounting.
  3. Mount the Base: Pull the Ethernet cable through the hole in the swivel base, position vertical or horizontal on your siding/trim, secure with #6 screws (PH2 driver). Anchors as needed.
  4. Attach the Swivel: Route the cable through the swivel center, attach to the base with four #4 / PH1 center screws. The pass-through is sized so the RJ45 connector fits through without de-terminating.
  5. Connect & Mount the Doorbell: Plug the RJ45 into the back of the doorbell. Snap onto the bracket using the screws PROVIDED WITH THIS MOUNT (PH1 driver) — not Reolink's stock back plate.
  6. Aim & Lock: Live View → adjust the swivel until the 180° diagonal 4:3 frame covers porch top-to-bottom (visitor face top, packages bottom) → tighten set screws.
  7. Set Up NVR Recording (Optional): If you have a Reolink NVR, add the doorbell as a channel for 24/7 continuous recording. Otherwise the microSD card stores motion-event clips locally — no cloud subscription needed.

PoE switch tip: any IEEE 802.3af (15.4W) PoE switch or injector works — you don't need PoE+. If your existing switch isn't PoE, a $20 single-port PoE injector solves it without replacing the switch.
